Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 on Thursday were trading at fresh record highs. While BSE Sensex jumped over 240 points (0.50 per cent) to hit 50,000-mark for the first time ever, the broader Nifty 50 index crossed the crucial 14,700-mark.
For the BSE Sensex, it took a little over three months to climb from 40,000 to 50,000 points. It took just nine sessions to gain 1,000 points from 49,000 points.
